ASSISTANT CHIEF’S
NEWS LETTER
APRIL 2008
Members:
Thanks everyone for the great support during the Car Show on 12 April, the fund raiser was a
complete success! A special thanks to Zack & Katie, Josh & Tonya, Josh & Christa, and Chief
Joey Boyd for going the extra mile to make the Car Show happen.
During the March business meeting amendments to the By-Laws were presented to the members and by now should have been available to every member of the department; a vote on the acceptance or denial to the amendments should take place at the next business meeting on 12 May at 7:00PM.
I encourage all members to take advantage of the scheduled alternate training days if for reasons
of work or family matters you can’t attend the regularly scheduled training Saturdays. I would like
to clarify something about the alternate training days; if you attend the Saturday training for the
month, and then you also attend the alternate training for that same month, you will only receive
credit for one training event for that month.
The 4th Saturday training for May falls on Memorial Day weekend and will be rescheduled for 31 May.
Firefighter Instructors from around the county are planning to conduct a Firefighter 160 course to be held at our department beginning in May. I encourage everyone without this training to attend; classes will be held on Tuesday & Thursday (except for alternate training days) evenings from 6pm to 10pm and every other Saturday from 7am to 4pm. Your attendance to this training will be counted as your training commitment per the By-Laws for this year.
Please contact me as soon as possible if you plan to attend this training.
Please feel free to call me and let me know what you would like to see in my “Assistant Chief’s Newsletter”, if I think it’s appropriate I will put it in.
Thanks for your support to our community,
Bill Barber
